I have a 2008 Jeep Compass that ppours water out of the interior light when it rains. I just cleaned over an inch of standing water out of the back floor board. It is a hazard when driving in the rain and a health hazard due to the potential for mold formation from the water.
This problem was "fixed" in May of 2009, less than 6 months after I purchased the car. It started again in May of this year.
I just spoke with the local dealer and was informed that though this is a problem with this particular model it is up to Chrysler whether or not it will continue to be a covered repair now that the car is no longer under warranty. He stated that they are finding the drain tubes for the sun roof get clogged up. If this is an ongoing issue with this car is there a recall on it and what is being done to remedy the problem?
We were caught in a heavy rain storm this past week and trying to deal with the rain and with a waterfall inside the car was extremely dangerous. This needs to be fixed permanently.
