washer rear seal got compromised by either whirlpool or HE detergent / Kirkland - Sun Products. One and a half to two years for a $799 washer is not what I expected or wanted. Sun Products offered $225 to sign a release not holding them liable / whirlpool said they would give us parts at half off, but even with that we would have to pay $500 to $650 to repair it, as quoted by the whirlpool repair man. My question is why did whirlpool make a machine that has a seal that is exposed to the detergent but does not stand up to the task ? OR why does Sun Products make a HE detergent sold as kirkland brand that is so harsh that it eats away the seal, exposing the bearings and ruining the machine ?
