State of Oregon Public Health Complaint

H1N1 NO TREATMENT FOR UNINSURED - - Medical Care

- Clackamas County
Oops, she caught the N1H1 Virus, Coughing Up Blood. My call to the State of Oregon Public Health 1-800-978-3040
asking how do I get Medical Treatment for my daughter. She's over 18, but since we can't afford to send her to college she is NOT covered by our Insurance thru Nike. She was DENIED Oregon Health Plan because she lives with her parents.
Response - Call 911 - Take her to Hospital Emergency Room
I explain - I do not have the money for an ER Visit, Under Chapt. 13 I can not incurr any new debts - I was transferred to a Doctor Scott.

Dr. Scott said take your daughter to Emergency, use a false name and address, don't give social security number and then they can't bill you. He went on to suggest my daughter should be taken away from me as I am not looking after her best interest in not taking her for treatment. WAY TO GO OREGON - He explained that was why he gave up his medical practice - I told him I was going to tell the Media and he said that would be just fine with him. Any Hospital or Doctor that refused to treat her was welcome to call him too.
Even myself WITH INSURANCE have tumors growing out of my head, but I can't afford to go get the needed medical care that the insurance won't pay. Teeth broken, gums bleeding have insurance, but still can't afford to get the care the insurance doesn't pay. NOW MY DAUGHTER CAN DIE WITH N1H1 because she has no insurance or I can teach her LIE - LIE -LIE that's the way to get help in the great State of Oregon, Country of United States of America..... Look at all the fraudulent liars sucking up food stamps, rental assistance, medical care, vacations, suites for their mistresses, funding for their retirement plans - Unfortunately she was raised by the Bible and honors "THOU SHALT NOT LIE!" so I guess she might just die ~ or she'll continue to battle the flu for a week or two and maybe get better.

OHSU does provide care in this type of situation. When you get to the ER ask to apply for financial aid. OHSU clinics also provide care for people unable to pay. Apply for outpatient care that is based on ability to pay and see what your daughter qualifies for.

I think Providence also allows college students to apply for a "discount" when they are still living at home. I have had at least one college student living at a friends home tell me that she was able to pay her ER bill thru their program.
