I called AT&T on 2/03/11 in reference to a "Price Confirmation" mailed to my home of a guarantee of $19.95 for Fast Access DSL and "only 20.00 per month for unlimited local caling". I called and said I would switch from my curent phone company and internet provider to take advantage of this "great deal." After listening to a lengthy sales pitch so that I might take advantage of their other great offers, I respectfully declined and said I would be just fine and only wanted to sign up for the prices offered. I was told I would have to purchase my modem (from them of course) which would be $100.00. Luckily I could pay this for only $10.00 per month (interest free) for ten months. I agreeded. My first bill arrived and it was a whopping $143.72! I had been charged for long distance service, Complete Choice Enhanced, Equipment Maintenance Plan, Equipment inside Wire, Protection plan and the list goes on and on. I immediately called to speak with am customer service representative I was put on hold and transferred time and time again. Each time having to repeat my entire story. Finally I was told I would receive credit and the bill would be corrected but to keep my service going I would have to pay the amount due. So I did. My next bill came and it was $93.72. I called again and went through the whole thing again. Finally someone reduced the payment to $73.94 which was still not the $65.44 I was originally quoted (that priced included the $10. for the modem and taxes). I have repeatedly told them I have the confirmation # which I was told would "lock in my pricing." Not one person has asked for that #. Then for the second part of the problem- when they came to run the lines, they damaged my yard. After I complained some one came out and scattered some grass seeds. Finished cutting off the branches of an azalea bush they had damaged and tried to smooth out some roots they had dug up. Also they sliced a 25 year old magnolia tree literally in half. Two months later someone dropped off 2 azaleas to replace the damaged but no one would talk to me about my tree. It still stands at the end of my driveway sliced in half. I can't get anyone to talk to me about it! I am so tired of being shoved around by this company. I have literally spent hours on the phone trying to get this resolved but so far only the two azaleas and grass seed. The last correspondence I had with them was on 5/09/11, some one by the name of Ethan and he informed me the reason my bill was so high was because I changed my plan and they had charged me $48.00 on 3-21-11 for making the changes. I have all of the paper work they have sent me and the notes from my phone call with dates and who I spoke with. Can you help me?
