To whom it may concern:
My small niece saved her money to but her uncle something for his birthday in January of 2007. She was so happy to present her uncle with a vanilavisa gift card as a gift, on the front of this card it says "Good Thru 06/09" and I went to use this card yesterday - to my surprise there was a "0" balance because this company implements service charges on this card at the time of purchase. Nobody bothered telling my niece this and as a gift giver you just take it for granted that the amount that was put on the card was going to be available through the date on the front of the card.
I talked to a person from the 1-800-571-1376 number who hung up on me when I asked to talk to his supervisor.
This is a great SCAM !!!!
I don't dare tell my small niece that her gift went for not. I hope nobody else gets take in by this.
