We are a family of 7 ( with a handicapped child) whose washing machine died. We returned to Home Depot (where we purchased a new oven a few months ago) and bought a $900 LG washing machine with favorable online reviews. We waited 4 days for delivery. It broke after the second use! We waited 2 days for service, to be told that the gears were stuck and it needed a brand new clutch. This necessitated disassembling the entire machine to replace a LARGE part - obviously a major manufactuer defect. After 2 hours, the LG servicemen confessed they could not even complete the repair because the bolts were STUCK! At this point, we contacted Home Depot. They were rude and totally indifferent...told me they could not take a "loss" on the machine. They would not refund our money or let us pick a replacement. Directions came from elusive store manager who was in meetings and on vacations. They told me they went "above and beyond" by getting us a replacement from LG (which I do NOT WANT) because according to the "Lemon Law" we don't get a new machine unless it breaks 3x....I told them I can't get this NEW machine to break two more times because it is not operational!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! At this point, we have to wait 5 more days for a supposed replacement machine although it has STILL not been confirmed by LG. I have had to go to a laundromat every night with multiple loads. I think it is a disgrace that a multi-million dollar corporation would treat a consumer in this manner! They should have offered us a chance to pick a new machine and expedited delivery and dealt with LG, one of their suppliers - not ME. I want to expose the phony commercials........total indifference.......so sick of getting kicked around and ripped off. Please help! Other consumers should know that they don't care about consumers or stand behind their products, leave you on hold and insult you. Thank you.
