Last July, I hired Aria & Associates, in California to secure a mortgage loan modification.
They charged me $1,875.00, which I paid in three installments. I also signed a contract.
They constantly called me and asked me to fax information, but where never available when I had a question.
After four months of getting nothing for my money, they called me frantically telling me that I had too much money in my checking account to secure a modification.
They asked me to take all the money out of my checking account. I immediately told them that it was fraud to do just that. They told me to just say that I owed my children money and that I payed them off.
The next day, I called and told them I wanted to cancel my contract with them, as I was very upset about the fraud that they wanted me commit.
It seems that they only had one imployee that handled "refunds". He did call me about a week later to tell me he would be in contact with me shortly.
I made many calls to this person, who only went by a first name.
He agreed to cancel my contract and pay me back the money, in total, in three installments, the same way I had paid them.
I did receive the first payment, about two weeks late. I did receive the second payment late. It is now six weeks after I was to receive the last payment.
I have made, at least, twenty calls to the company, demanding to speak with the "refund" person, always being told he was not available, to leave a message.
It has now come to the point that the main phone number to this company rings five times and then goes dead.
I also have a phone number for the loan person. That phone number is always busy.
I assume I have been scammed and will never receive my money.
I lost my job two years ago and have run out of unemployment. I despertly need to get this money back.
Any help you could give me would be deeply appreciated. I would also like to warn other despert persons that you do not need an independent company to secure a loan modification for you, you can do it yourself FOR FREE, with your present mortgage lender.
I found this company through a television add with a phone number.
PLEASE BE CAREFUL! DON'T LOSE MONEY THAT YOU CAN'T AFFORD TO LOSE! DO YOUR HOMEWORK!
