Living without a refrigerator for 7 months - Monogram Refrigerator/Freezer

- Los Angeles Area
We remodeled our kitchen in early 2003. To go along with our kitchen we purchased a GE Monogram Refrigerator/Freezer. The appliance has given us some small trouble in the past, but never anything major. In October of 2007 our refrigerator began to freeze our food. The temperature of the refrigerator dropped from approximately 33/34 degrees Fahrenheit to about 20 degrees Fahrenheit and the freezer dropped from 0 degrees to around -18 degrees Fahrenheit. Since the time of our original service call we have had a GE service employ come out to our house almost every month trying to fix it. The first time it was fixed in October it worked for about a month, but never properly. Three days before thanksgiving, it went out again and this time it needed "special parts." We were told that in about two weeks the parts should show up at our door steps. The parts never arrived until January 15th. Since then we have had GE come back out to our house and attempt this again. During the last week of March another service man came out and once again ordered parts.

We have asked GE to give us a new refrigerator because it is still under warranty and they keep on telling us that they need to wait to hear from a technician that has looked at it. We do not know what to do anymore. The worst part of the whole situation is that when we call GE's phone support, it takes literally about 10 minutes before you can get a REAL person. Every time you have to re tell your story to the new representative you get. The best part of it is when you tell them "It is so hard to live without a refrigerator for 7 month!" and then they say "I understand sir. "

"NO! NO! NO! YOU DONT UNDERSTAND WHAT IT IS LIKE TO LIVE WITHOUT A WORKING REFRIGERATOR FOR 7 MONTHS!"

Thanks for listening.
