GEICO - Yes . . . it is what's in your wallet!! - Insurance

A Geico insured damaged my vehicle with the door from his truck. I took photos of the truck, the damage to my car door, the damage to his door, and the positioning of the vehicles in the lot.
It was obvious that he caused the damage. The damaged to each vehicle matched locations, the paint was the same color, and the space between the vehicles was insufficient to allow a person to exit without coming into contact with my car and the damage was at the same level on the vehicles. The insured also gave me all of his GEICO insurance info.
GEICO denied the claim (about $100) primarily because their insured decided to deny any responsiblity. And . . probably the main reason is that this is automatic since this is a small claim, below my deductible on my insurance (leaving me in a position where I can't file and have my company subrogate GEICO). SO that leaves the consumer in these types of cases out of luck with no option but to bear the cost of repair. Seems small but the claims can add up. GIECO knows they can do this and deny hundreds of claims that do add up to be significant because the consumer is left holding the bag. This is most likely standard procedure on their end. Yes, it's small but it's not right. GEICO - it's not in our wallet, it's what's in YOUR WALLET!!
