Furniture Brands Group Complaint

Online Furniture Scams - Furniture And Home Furnishings

- New York - 545 8th Street
I purchased bedroom furniture for my daughter's room plus a small bookshelf from an online company called "EVERYDAY FURNISHINGS.COM", because they carried a specific brand of furniture that I really liked, with great prices and free shipping. My purchase date was September 6th, 2007. After 2.5 months of waiting, and several inquiries about where my order was, all I kept getting was excuses on about when it would ship (which was always vague), or that is was held up in production, or that it was on the next truck out from the manufacturer, of which I am convinced were all lies. After a very angry e-mail complaint from me, Al Carter, a "customer service person", re-assured me that they are not fraudulent, and posted a $50 credit back to my card.

A week later, I did receive one little piece of my order, the little $78 bookshelf so I felt better for a little while, ..BUT it's now Nov 19th, I'm still awaiting the biggest & most expensive part of my order...the bedroom furniture (bed/dresser/desk w/hutch & organizer cubby, which total $845.00, which is not a huge amount, but from what I've been reading, there are a lot of folks who spent THOUSANDS at this seemingly fake store, and waiting 3, 4, 5, 6 months with no receipt of merchandise.

I believe this store or group of stores (of which I will list below), charge your credit card immediately when you place the order, then never send you merchandise. They may throw you a bone now and then, just to string you along and calm you down, and hopefully outlast the amount of days your credit card will be able to file a dispute. After that, they get to keep your money, or the biggest part of what you originally spent.

I've saved all the e-mail strings for review. This company is located at 545 8th St. Suite 401, NY, NY 10018-4307 (some phone numbers they list, but when i tried to call, every call was dropped: 866-218-0890 x205 for everydayfurnishings, and 877-391-0645, 877-391-0646. Other companies that run from this same address and are under Furniture Brands Group: ONE CLICK FURNITURE, ACCENT WAREHOUSE, BEDROOM PLAZA, DINETTES GALORE, GO HOME OFFICE, GREAT TO BE A KID, LIVING ROOMSNMORE, RACK IT AND STACK IT, TICK TOCK SHOP, STRICTLY CHAIRS, SOFA SHOWPLACE.

Also, there are some home-improvement businesses with the same address, although these may just be on the same floor or building, however I am suspicious: Dream Kitchens, Apex Windows, Three Guys Floor Covering Inc., Ekcer Windows & Home Improvement. Whatever the case, this place needs to be investigated immediately.

I purchased a wine rack in Nov.07 I had one e-mail that the wine rack was in North Carolina at the delivery company and would be shipped "white gloves" within a week or so, that was a few days after Christmas in 07.it is now March 08 and it is due to ship any day now. Ha Ha. Do not purchase anything from one click it is a scam and a rip off.

I just found out Mar. 31,2008 I was scammed out of 1469.00. I am livid. Same story as everyone else except I am willing to go to court as well. I think we all should and get a class action suit going before Al Carter and Miss Suzie Walker dissapear. As far as I can see they have been using the different websites to scam everyone who puts an order in for furniture since July, 07. They need to be stopped and no one is doing anything about this. I know all the federal and local agencies must be aware of this scam from all the complaints, but they are still operating like nothing is wrong. I repeat, we need to all get together and do something. Anybody know a lawyer or is a lawyer willing to come aboard and fight for us?

I also think that we need to get somehow all together and fight back this so called "company." When I write my e-mails to the "dearest Miss Suzie," she usually ignores them, she answered only one time by sending me her mail that she cannot give me refund because the electronic transfer doesn't work. I am shopping for years with many companies, many of them are international companies and I was never charged for an item before is was shipped. I shop with companies that send me even exact day of delivery and tracking number and I can count on them, the UPS company or FedEx on time. When I need to return something I never experienced any problems and I always got my refund straitht on my card. A very different story is with this scamming company FBG and the other names they use as mentioned above by Laura. They are the most dishonest Internet company in the world. They are keeping my money so far, $1,155, but I am not willing to give them my money. I am referring them to everybody I can, the other messages from other customers are very usuful and I found some information that I use to write the "Suzie the dearest." This Suzie is now bombarded by my e-mail messages every single day. I added to my e-mail addresses also SJay@everydayfurnishings.com and ACarter@everydayfurnishings.com. They can be sure that I won't be quiet and their illegal practices will be addressed. I am not working to give them my money. My bank issued for me temporerly credit so I hope I will get my money back but I won't be happy until this company won't be taken down. They stole enough money from innocent and trusting people and they will be stopped soon. I am optimist and I believe if we will all complain and write letters to the different agencies we will get somebody'attention and progress in pursuing this company.
Sorry for my English and my syntax, English is not my first language, but I hope my comment is easy to follow.
GOOD LUCK TO EVERYBODY AND DON'T GIVE UP PLEASE!!!!

I too was scammed by this company. They gave me the same story about getting a refund. Yes, I too could not get my money back because of some electronic funds BS. Now I have to dispute the charge on my credit card and what chance do I have in getting my $2,250 back?! This company needs to go DOWN. Do not do business with them.

I just found this site.....although too late as I too placed an order on 1/30/08 at everydayfurnishings.com and received the same BS from Suzie. We cancelled the order tonight and have been told the same lines that you have been told. I am furious and would like to help close these people down as well! I am amazed at how long this has been going on and nothing has been done!

Posted by jontyree on 06/27/2008
I have the exact same story. I ordered a table on 2/22 for $719 from OneClickFurniture.com, my card was charged right away. They kept saying it was delayed because they need a full trailer to ship from the manufacturer. Finally I cancelled the order, which they were happy to do but I get NO REPLY when I ask about refunding my money.

These f**king scumbags need to go to jail. I've filed compliants with the BBB and the NY Attorney General office. You can do both online. Very easy but what good does it do? I've filed a dispute with my credit card, but it is past 60 days. If they just brush me off as saying I'm out of the time limit then what good are they? They are just as complicit in ripping me off at FBG if they allow this crap.

I'm thinking of writing letters to every furniture manufacturer that they claim to sell, explaining that they are criminals. If Furniture Brands Group actually is a distributor for these companies, hopefully it will bring some negative attention to them. If they are already not authorized dealers for these furniture companies, then I doubt that any manufacturer would want their products listed on a site that isn't authorized to do so. I'd like to see every manufacturer dropping their authorization and suing them for misrepresentation.

I too was ripped off by oneclickfurniture.com in the same way everyone else here has been. My estimated delivery time was 6 to 8 weeks, beyond the 60-day time limit for filing a dispute claim with a credit card. Now, I'm out $1,829. What I want to know is, how can major credit card companies, like MasterCard in my case, continue to allow a fraudulent company like this to charge innocent peoples' cards? If they have received so many complaints about this company, and they have not suspended the fraudulent company's account with them, then MasterCard and the others are just a fraudulent. The 60-day rule should not apply to charges in which there would not be a dispute prior to that period. This is just wrong. Oh, and Suzie, if you are reading this, you have pissed off the wrong person. I am employed with the federal government, and I will use every connection I have to see that justice is carried out.

New operating name of Everyday Furnishings AKA FBG is:

ShopSmartFurniture.com

Please read all reader's comments and be aware of this new name of the same company.

I am so furious and disqusted right now and feel like an idiot for not researching this before placing a $7890.00 order on 2/28/08. I thought I was buying a formal dining room and bedroom set that I was excited about getting a great deal. Well, after months of telephone calls, emails, and lies, I am now 6 months pregnant and sleeping on a mattress on the floor because I gave away my previous bedroom set with the expectation of receiving the new one within 5-8 weeks as told when my order was placed. Somewhere along 12 weeks or so, I finally got my dining set and was told not to worry that since part of my order had already shipped, I would definitely be getting the rest. (All lies from the infamous Miss Suzie Walker) She has such a way of reassuring you on the telephone that everything will be okay and once they have a "full" truckload, I will get it all. Well now, all the telephone numbers affiliated with them are ringing with no answer. I just don't know what to do.

I have seen so many complaints.

Please contact the Attorney General in NY.

They are using efurnituredeals.com now.

Let's all be diligent in following up on our complaints and posting their new web-sites as we find them.

I have had the same experience as all of you. I did get my $$ back after six months of fighting these guys. American Express finally accepted my dispute even though it was around 100 days when I figured out that I was ripped off. I called Suzie and her friends over 100 times a day (with help) for over one week and e-mailed all of their working address on a group list multiple times per day. There are about 15-20 working e-mail addresses. Am-Ex gave me back the 3.5K not the company. They probably just closed down that site and company to avoid paying Am-Ex. You can also do research of similar furniture products to find thier new sites because they will continue to do this. I recommend the BBB and Attorney Generals office, but I did not see any results. It is still a good idea. The best thing would be to find these people and show them exactly how angry everyone is about being ripped off. If anyone would like my list of contact information and addresses, please let me know. There is also a pretty good list at the bottom of this post. Thanks to everyone who posted their information to help us get our money back.

10/26/08 Just wanted to thank everyone for this information. I have been online looking at curio cabinets and was just about to purchase one from efurnituredeals.com. I ran across this comment site by accident when I was looking to see if there were any promotional codes online to use. I am so grateful that I saw these comments. It never occured to me that this site would not be a legitimate site. I have purchased items online from other places before with no problem and it didn't dawn on me to look to see if there had been negative postings for this company. I am very appreciative that all of you took the time to write comments so that someone like me was saved the same hassles. I wish there were an easier way to find this type of information instead of running across it by accident. At any rate, I will not be buying anything from that company. Thanks again!!!

i had something similar. I got my furniture but the company, hotpricedfurniture.com (now dba freeshipfurniture.com) doubled charged me and i can't get my money back!!

Posted by illumination655 on 11/17/2008
In September I purchased a piece of furniture from eFurnituredeals.com and never received it. After many complaints they claimed that they credited my credit card and nothing happened. They have been reported to FTC, BBB and Consumer Affairs and no one has done anything about this. I see that I am not the only person taken for a ride. I can imagine how much money they have swindled. DO NOT BUY FROM eFurnituredeals.com you will loose your money.
very upset consumer.

the same thing happened to me re Hotpricedfurniture.com...
can you tell me what agency i should contact to try and get my money back. I was scammed out of 1669.30! i have writing, emailing them and still no credit.
they are now doing busines as freeshipfurniture.com

Thank you all for complaining, you probably just steer my money away from them, I might be a weak revenge but it is, and do not stop complaining when you get scammed, I probaby am 1 out of 100 potential customer you just steered away from them today alone. Anyway I was second away from making the mistake of buying furniture online,I think any legitimate online furniture store should support you guy and join the fight, otherwise they will loose a lot of businesses because of these bogus furniture stores.

I got horribly scammed by them as well. Actually, more than most of you, they ran up over $12,000 on my card that I finally just got back. The only reason I figured it out was because my card didn't work when I went to buy groceries 3 days later and found out I was bankrupt. Then I found all of this stuff.
I would suggest to not even deal with trying to get your refund with them. Call your card company, and be sure to have your card company fax you the dispute documentation with the correct date. This company's sole purpose is to string you along until your chargeback window has expired.
They actually operate out of Qatar in the Middle East. Their host IP address is currently 206.188.8.40. They have their proxy scam site in New Jersey. See, they need a couple people in on the scam in the U.S. so they can facilitate outside of normal commerce laws, but need to retain a physical address here in the U.S. If you look into it, they have several licensed companies at the same address. There's really no way to stop them. All of their assets are likely outside of U.S. control. The actual company is likely only worth about 5 bucks, while all their liquid cash goes straight to the Middle East. So rather than file a class action lawsuit, it would be much more effective to invest in a hacking organization that resides in a country with no cyber laws. Ironically, these organizations are more reliable than efurnituredeals.com. Anyway, I'm shopping around for a few now to crash their site, and keep following them. I'll post when I found one in case anyone wants to donate a few bucks to get a piece of the action.

Efurnituredeals.com is a bigg f-ing FRAUD! Buyer beware!!!!!

Posted by karltinsly on 03/09/2009
Same story here. Scammed by efurnituredeals.com. Last week we got a call from the NJ Attorney General's office, saying they were going to investigate, which is good, though if what others are saying, it might not do much good. Anyway,we canceled our order after 4 months, and finally got our money back through MasterCard and USAA, since efurnituredeals was promising our refund week in and week out but would never send it.
EFURNITUREDEALS.COM IS A SCAM!!! DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM!!!
