Spirit Incentives Complaint

Free Curise only costs you $500 to $1000 - Free Cruise

- Won in Oklahoma
My husband and I attended the Balloon Festival last fall in Calremore, OK. One of the vendors had a spin the wheel for a chance to Win a trip for 2, there were 3 different trips you could win. My husband took his turn at the wheel and as luck would have it won the trip and since we love to cruise that is the choice we made. We had to set through a presentation with a vacation company called Southern Journeys. After the presentation and the purchasing of a very expensive vacation package membership we were given the information on our "Free Cuise". After following all of the instructions of on line registartion and we will contact you we waited and waited. I finally called and the told me to go to the web site and enter our voucher number. I did this only to print out paper work to send in a deposit of $198.00 for taxes and fees, which we did know would be our responsibility. Once they received the deposit we could continue with booking our "Free Cruise". Once again no email or phone call was received but I was going to their web site every day or so and entering our voucher number. At last they showed our deposit received and were given the next set of instructions. Pick out 3 dates that we could travel, most of the dates were blocked out so there was not much of a choice but we picked 3 and sent them back via the on line form. This is when we got the we will contact you 45 days prior to your earliest chosen date. Again I watched the web site every other day or so. At last about mid January there it was, we could contact them again, but we had to do it within 7 days (it was 4 or 5 days later before it showed up on our email.) Of course you had to call M-F 8-5 but call we did and only had to be on hold about 10 minutes, only to find out that you had to complete your booking at that time. We were given the option to call back when they listed the information that they would need, I don't know about you but I don't keep my passport at work, so we chose to call back. My husband called back on January 25th only to be left on hold for 45 minutes, at that point he chose to hang up. My husband called back again on the 26th and spent nearly an hour on the phone. After being told that the dates we had chosen were not available unless we wanted to upgrade to a more expensive cabin he told the representative that we could travel almost any time between now and April 1st and then later in the summer or fall. He was told that summer was there busy season and they were booked. Needless to say for the nealry $1000.00 that this "Free Cruise" was going to cost us we requested a refund. We will be watching the mailfor this refund. This is a scam, there is no "Free Cruise". Southern Journeys is aware that Spirit Incentives uses every delaying tactic in the book to get you to say never mind. I was told to just hang in there and you'll get you trip, I do not believe that for a minute.
