Forum Technologies Complaint

Electric Consumption Saver Scam - X Power Energy Saver

- las vegas nevada
To whom it may concern;

a company name forum technologies has been selling a product called x-power energy saver, that they claim it can save you 25% of your power bill. A lot of people already joined this networking (pyramid) business. They ask you to join for a fee of $500.00 That include 2x power units for your personal use. As a "director" in other words a "recruit" you're supposed to recruit people so you can qualify for commissions and bonuses. This kind of tactics (making a lot of money from recruiting) is their way of getting people to join although they know that the product (i think) doesn't work.

Can you please investigate this x-power energy saver product if it's legitimate and really works? I believe this is just a scam.

This scam is happening almost all over the united states, especially here in las vegas and california.

Their website is www.Myfti.Biz; address; p o box 500009, austin, tx 78750; phone# 512-524-4444; fax# 512-238-9378.

Should you need to contact me, or have any questions, you can reach me at 702-804-4299 or 702-217-2327.

Your help in this matter will be greatly appreciated.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,

j.R. Vianzon

I have done enough investigation to know that FTI is a company that uses fraud to deceive people. They fraudulently claim their devices are listed with companies such as UL, ETL or SGS. They may have had some testing done at these companies but they are not listed.

Furthermore, I am an electrical engineer and have tested the product myself and know it does not work. It produces a phase difference in the current so it aligns more closely with the voltage but it does not change the KWh or real power usage.

While I do not have the device in question, I have looked at their website and am familiar with this basic technology, which has been around for 35 years. I would comment only to ask the electrical engineer who replied previously that while the device shifts the "current" phase to more closely match the voltage phase (that is what he was talking about) "but it does not change the KWh or real power usage" - IF that is so, then what about "Power Factor" - which an electrical engineer is fully aware of? By definition- when you align the "current" phase to the voltage phase you increase efficiency and Power Factor approaches “1”. Then, by using capacitance, you decrease consumption through the "meter" on the home, which results in lower electric bills. Please respond, if you are still there, as I am curious why you would say what you did - as an electrical engineer. I have my own primitive version of this on my house and it works quite well. I see no reason to doubt that others could not improve on the idea.
Thank you.

I was recently invaited to hear and meet a recruiter (director of Forum technologies ) to give a demostration of the device in question and what is all about, I was invited by the owner of a restaurant who was approched by this recruiter so he offered to try the product first for 30 days as he was very skeptical of the effectiviness of this device, Making a deal that if the owner of the restaurant would not see and or reflect in his next electrical bill savings the recruiter will pay the owner 25% of the bill but if he would see the savings on the bill the owner will buy and pay for the savings he obtain from using the Power savings device fair enouogh I think so. 30 days past and the salesman came back and they compare the usage in KW/h and the savings in 30 days,to the surprise of the buz owner he got around $230 dollars less in that bill as he normally he pays every moth around $800 so, that's why the guy invaited me and I was able to see the bill with my own eyes so I do belive this works and the comment of the engineer is accurate and to tell you the truth I went to see other products on line on their website and it looks promising as for the gas saver and other chips that offers to save you gasmilage and I was able to go into the scientific data, studies and researches that they have done, I am a computer techinician for one of the largest manufactures in the world and this look alright but only time will tell, I have not join the company as yet thinkin about it, as perhaps it just may be a good opportunity to make money and help you save energy that's all.

Please let us know the name of the restaurant and its owner so that we can check out your story. I also noticed that the name of the company selling these gadgets was xedia or myxedia.

Did anyone check the restaurant? June 17th 2008,
the courts ruled that Xedia can sell the units. They proved they worked. Forums did not.

This may be a defunct product, but many others just like them have taken their place. The fundamental misunderstanding is that while correcting the power factor reduces the current draw, it does not change the real power (or kWh) that your residential meter records. The savings are zero for residential customers.
