Ford Motor Corporation Complaint

The New Mustang Will Not Drink !

Imagine yourself driving your new 30 thousand dollar Red convertible mustang, You are in a hurry to get to work on time, But you need gas, So you pull into your favorite gas station, And proceed to filler up. For most of us this is not a problem, but for Thousands of New Mustang owners it can be a frustrating experience. Due to a design flaw in the Mustang, The vehicles will not accept fuel in over 80 percent of the fuel pumps in California. In my case I have an updated version of the fuel tank, But the problem still exists. At this time a remedy to this defect has not been found. It can take 10 to 20 minutes to fill the car. When the car is on empty, The gas pump thinks the car is full. It is a struggle to get gas into the tank because of the back pressure in the filler neck, The nozzle just clicks, and clicks, and clicks. Yesterday I gave up and left the station half full. I think Ford knows the problem exist, And will not invest the money to correct it. I'm still searching for a solution at this time.

I was reading about this problem in another forum. The common consensus was that the gas tank itself needs to get replaced.

My 2005 Mustang would drink fine. Everytime it rained it filled up with water and the Smart Junction Box shorted out. It was a SLIGHT structural defect in the car. Ford charged me $9,500 to send the car to Ford reclaimation, because they couldn't fix it. Now as more claims of leaks have started to be reported, Ford claims that the leaking problem is acceptable.

I know exactly how you feel-my 2006 GT has the same problem with the fuel. Ford has replaced the tank once and the very next time I needed to fill it up it would only take 5.47. Brought it back to the dealer and Ford sent 2 engineers out to look @ it. They say it cannot be fixed...the car has been at the dealer's since 10/24/07. I also had the issue of the water leak every time it rained hard. Finally, after Hurrican Humberto blew through the area the dealer was able to find the leak. There was clip missing somewhere under the windshield and dash they also had to reseal the cowl panel and replace my carpet due to overwhelming smell. The car has less than 10,000 mile on it and still under warranty and extended warranty. It's ridiculous to pay for a vehicle that cannot be driven!!!
