I purchased a 2006 Mustang GT on 12/14/2006. It has now been at the dealership since 10/24/17. It has been there multiple times for several different things, but the current problem is that the car will not take gas. The gas tank has been replaced once and the very first time I took it to fill it up the same thing happened. The car would only take $5.47 in fuel. So the car went back to Silsbee Ford. The dealer says that Ford sent out 2 engineers to look at the car and try and put fuel in it. The most it would take was .32cents. The engineers said that they cannot fix my car. How do you make a product that cannot be fixed and expect someone to still pay for this product? I have called Ford's 800# and have gotten what amounts to the run-around,they say it's the dealer's issue to handle. Silsbee Ford says that they are waiting for Ford and that they are only a "dealer". I have told both parties that I want to be bought out of this lemon and do NOT want another Ford product nor do I want anything from this dealership.
After almost 2 months of nothing the dealer said that they could put me in a 2008 Mustang GT - of course, now the price has gone up and they expected me to pay almost 6,000 more for this 2008 plus TTL all over again. After rejecting that deal the salesman said he needed to talk to his manager, approx. 10 minutes later he came back and said he could have me in the 2008 for only $40.00 plus TTL. Now why didn't he offer me that to begin with? Considering that this issue is not due to any fault of mine why wouldn't you try and get me the best deal? Anyway, he then went on to tell my that this new 2008 would not have 18" rims and tires like my car. I asked him why not - that's what I have on my car. It's enough that they don't make the same color that my car is anymore, but now you're going to tell me that a feature that was pushed when I purchased the car will not be available to me.
The salesman kept telling me what a "great deal" this was and he didn't see why I was not interested. I told him that I did not see where losing money and not getting the same features was such a "great deal". He said he thought I would be "flexible". Why should I be flexible??? The salesman ( Dustin) was even asked if they would just put my rims and tires on the new vehicle-he said,"No,when Ford buys back a car they buy back as-is". So,I'm supposed to be flexible and they are not even willing to give me the rims and tires that I had when I bought this lemon?I am paying for a vehicle that cannot be driven. I am paying extra insurance for a GT and cannot drive it. I have held up my end of the deal and neither Ford or the dealer has held up theirs. I need to get this issue resolved. I need a car that can be driven! Thanks for your time.
