Food Ministry Employees Steal, Bad Food Given Away - gives away food to middle class and poor

Here it goes....

I pick up a free grocery bag up for my elder. She is in her upper 80s. It is a fact that on my recent visit to the food pantry was a bad experience. I often go here with no problems.

I have witnessed employees stealing groceries taking them home with them. I also witnessed bias in food portions towards those obese. Manager for the food ministries knows what goes on but will do nothing about it.

The meats are sometimes bad and reek a foul odor.

I am responding to this story. I believe both sides of the story need to be heard. I have helped in the food ministry side for years. In no way do they ever devalue people. They never give portions bigger for obese people. However I know that they always have extra food and if asked they will give more. Sometimes people that come to the food ministry have other people that moved in with them for short times and they need food as well. As far as the meat smelling bad. It wouldn't be the food ministries fault. It is sent directly from the store and given to customers. Its not on the shelf long at all. By state laws could they ever give bad food away to people. The food is free come on. Why complain if something happens to slip by and its bad. I am not saying it don't ever happen but certainly not on purpose. Sevier County Food Ministries is a great center filled with purpose and filling many peoples kitchens during these hard times. Its sad when someone complains about something so minor. Just throw it away if once or twice you get something bad. think of all the things you get free. The man who runs it I know well. He is a good man and would never devalue anyone or give someone better treatment because of size, race color of whatever. He is a good man! Get facts straight! realize the real reason we are here and thats sharing Christ with the world.
