I am in the process of selling my home by owner in CT. I was told by a realtor that you can pay a flatfee and have your house listed on Realtor.com and MLS. I found flatfee.com. I paid the $295 flat fee, filled out the info and my house was supposed to be listed in 2 days. 4 days later I called and spoke with the owner, started giving me every excuse in the book and was very unprofessional. He then said a broker would be calling. The broker called and told me I would need to have my credit card on file. I didn't feel comfortable with that and had already paid the fee. I then called the man from flatfee.com (Sheridan Realty) I asked for a refund because of the credit card he said ok he would do it that day. 2 days later I called again to see when it would be refunded. He proceeded to swear at me and tell me it was only 295 anyway! Are you kidding me! He then hung up on me. I have called and written. The man is very very strange and I just cannot believe these people are still in business! I want my refund! I have filed a complaint with the BBB, Paypal and the Florida Attorney General's Office. The owner of this company is so unprofessional I am just in disbelief. I just cannot believe a business owner would speak and treat a customer like this! I am outraged and will not stop until my money is refunded! Please help!
