Dish Network Complaint

Fire started by Dish Network Equipment in RV; How Many are in Danger by Such Fir - Cable or Satellite TV

- Boerne, TX 78006
Fire caused by my dish network equipment and they are claiming it is not their equipment or their installation procedure that cause the fire.

I recently moved into an RV and had Dish Network move my existing service. They installed a new portable dish, wired it into the bedroom portion of my Travel Trailer (fifth wheel type)for second TV. The install placed a splitter there and ran wire to the living room area to connect the one receiver.

September 6th according to dish network my wife called about the fire around 7:00 pm. I was watching TV when I lost my connection. I turned off my receive and TV and still not TV so I went outside. I sat down facing the RV and instantly noticed a fire under my RV. Of course I jumped up screaming fire fire. I was able to put the fire out with my water hose however it did damage to the underside of my RV. The mesh and insulation was burned.

Dish sent out an investigator and he took pictures and and check the wiring on our trailer to see if the problem was with the electrical in the trailer. He did not find any problems according to how the installer did the work. He suggested that he take the receiver and have it send off the be check. We said that would be fine otherwise we would need to wait on a box that UPS delivers and box it up and ship it back to Dish.

This process has taken about 6 weeks and we recently receive a message on my cell phone stating that "a thorough investigation of this allegation determined that the results was not a malfunction of the receiver or other Dish Network equipment. As a result, no reimbursement or payment will be paid to you".

They installed it and it was their equipment and their inspector determined it was not in the electrical system of my RV.

The letter I received for Alejandra Gutierrez-Martinez is very insulting as it also states, "On September 6, 2011, you contacted Dish Network, L. L.C. of damages you claim were causes by a 222 receiver you had installed on July 3, 2011". It is though she is stating I am lying. There may be people like that, however I am not one of them.

Please help me get this information out. Peoples live are in danger. Who knows how many fires have been started by Network TV equipment or wiring.

If it had been later, I would have gone to bed once I lost the connection and I may have been burned or possible killed in an RV with only one door in or out of this trailer.

Thank you,
Howard
