I'm the primary policy holder of my auto insurance and I had full coverage until a lifetime friend of the insurance agent and a x-boyfriend of my daughter changed my policy, so when I got hail damage this spring I went to get coverage at the insurance co., and they told me I have only liability. I have about $5000.00 in damage. My daughter had co-signed for her x-boy-f) for him to get a truck, because he was riding around in a deathtrap with his two kids. My daughter wanted to help him and the kids so while she was with him, she also took care of his kids and got them a nice house and put up the utilities in her name. She was suppose to have been on the policy as a driver, but its not on anything we have. She told me that she didn't think the bank would accept the loan without her being on the policy, Because when she bought a car through that bank before, they told her she had to be on the policy. When they broke up a few months later, he agreed that he would keep up the insurance on the truck they bought and on the car that had a lein on it,until it was paid off and we got our title back on our car. Not long after she left him, he changed the insurance from full coverage to liabilty on a our car (at the bank) that my daughter borrowed money on so he would have a nice truck, and he didn't have the guts enough to tell us it was changed. The bank never told my daughter it was changed either. When my daughter ask her x about him changing it, he said he doesn't even have to pay liability on it,according to what he said the bank told him. """If the bank doesn't care if the car is insured or what happens to it ,then why are they keeping the title?"" I guess they thought we would never use the insurance and they wouldn't get found out about. It was only 8 months from the time the policy was taken out to the time they changed the coverage. The insurance co. told me they had a right to change it because I didn't give them my new address. I ask them for a copy of my memorandum(The application I made when I first took out the insurance) and they said they shredded it and I couldn't get a copy. (The reason we don't have a copy already is because when my daughter wasn't thinking about the policy, her x got it.) I was told by a agent of the same company that the insurance company would pay to have my car fixed if I would pay the back premium for full coverage that my daughter's x was suppose to have been paying, since they changed it over a year ago. I'm not paying them anything,I would of had coverage if they hadn't of sneaked around and changed it. The bank has the title on the car and they let them (her x & the insurance co) change the coverage ,also we were never notified about it. I have another insurance agent from a different company who told me that the insurance co. and the bank illegally changed the coverage and the insurance co. is suppose to keep my application( memorandum) for at least 3-7 years. I ask him why the other insurance co. would say they shredded my application, he said because they are hiding something. I thought that at first, and since I have talked with my new agent, I know that is why they say they don't have my original papers any more. ((((Please get back with me)))) There's more if you would like to hear it.
