The Farberware Inc. coffee pot Model Nos. FCP240A/280A/412A has a plastic washer that holds the base of the coffee pot to the body of the coffee pot. After a couple of days of normal use, the plastic washer broke and the base separated from the body of the pot. This action exposed the wiring between the base and the body of the pot. Also, the nuts on the pot base do not hold and they vibrate off.
As an individual with an engineering degree, I think this coffee pot has serious safety design issues.
