I bought tickets to fly from JKF to Seattle, for myself, husband and son, for 12/20. Delta canceled our flight, and told us that the earliest flight they could reschedule us for was December 26, the day after Christmas! Our family bought these tickets a month ago, for the express purpose of seeing our family in Seattle for Christmas.
They canceled our flight and are now saying there are no seats on any flights until six days later, which means that my two year old disabled son is going to miss his grandparents, santa claus, and his excited cousins on Christmas. We are devastated, and confused, and surprised, since all Delta flights are flying as scheduled now. How can they not get us on an earlier flight?
Some of the things the customer representative said to me were: " crying will get you nowhere, ma'am" and "our supervisor is too busy to talk to you." Delta's website promised they'd get all canceled flights rescheduled to fly out by 12/25, and we are devastated. Please help us! We are two New York city poets and college professors, and our son is in a wheelchair, and I've been crying for two days knowing that though I tried so hard to schedule ahead of the rush, and sent all my family's gifts by mail ahead of time, that now we are just grounded, stuck, and Delta doesn't care, and won't try to help us. Please help us!
