Engineers cannot fix their Own Product!! - Duet Front Loading Washing Machine

On July 29, 2011, the above machine stopped working and delivered a “F35” error message. An “ analog pressure sensor (aps) failure” was noted. A new aps unit was inserted to no avail. A certified repair person was called in to service the inoperative machine. The service person responded on August 8, 2011. He came prepared with a new aps unit to no avail.
The report for the 8/8/2011 service call: Under Problem Reported “ F21 and F27, long drain and overflow” The technical services performed reported “Found unit giving a F27 code. Put on pressure switch. Called the techline. Need to replace pressure switch, hose and sensor board.” The estimate for the list of repairs was $617.88. We agreed.

The Repair person returned on August 18, 2011 with the requisite parts. The Problem reported was “F35, then F27, Suds.” Tthe Technical Services Performed was: “I called techlineon 8/8/11. Said to replace pressure switch, pressure hose, Unit still has same error and pump still runs all the time. Replaced main control and flow meter and unit still has the same errors and won’t stop running. I don’t know what else to do. I advised (the customer) to call Whirlpool.”
In discussing the problem with the technician, he claimed that the machine “is unfixable”. The Whirlpool engineers could not suggest any further courses of action.
The lightly used machine died after 2.5 years. We received the brush off over the phone. We were hosed!
