I am a custodial parent seeking child support from my child's father. My child's father works at Julie's Fashion full time. He has been an employee there for over a year. While working for this company, my child's father has collected unemployment benefits and he may still be receiving benefits. I have filed several complaints with Florida Unemployment, however, they continued to pay him benefits. The reason they gave me is that the owner Julie Gaston denies that he is working for her. The owner of this business is paying my child's father under the table to avoid paying taxes Business Owners must pay for their employees. Therefore, my child's father is ripping off Unemployment and receiving double payment. A payment from the Unemployment Agency and a payment from Julie's Fashions. I have several witnesses that will testify that my child's father does indeed work for Julie Fashion and no one has attempted to resolve this matter. I am one of thousands of single parents who are seeking child support from the non-custodial parent and companies like Julie's Fashions are violating the law by paying their employees under the table. I think that we as custodial parents need to have our voices heard so that this type of behavior doesn't continue. These employers are creating a much greater problem by covering up for non-custodial parents. I would like for someone to investigate this case and other cases similar to my case. Let crack down on these employers and ensure that non-custodial parents take responsibility for their kids. Laws have been broken.
