Ebay/Paypal Complaint

Single Mom Trying To Give Her Son A Last Christmas Gift - Xbox

I am a single mom with 4 kid, barely, barely making ends meet. The only thing my 14 year old son asked for Christmas was an exbox 360. He is the best son any mom could ever ask for and I really wanted to give it to him. I explained to him that it would be his only Christmas gift and he was okay with that because he wanted it so bad.

He also knew I really couldn't afford it and the other kid would have to take a little less for me to get it for him, so he researched it and found it on ebay for $225, more than $100 less than the stores. I told him he could purchase it and gave him my credit card information. A week later he received an email from ebay saying the seller was taken off the website as a dishonest seller and we would not be receiving the item. I then went shopping and purchased the xbox for $349 with my credit card. I now received my credit card statement and paypay paid for an xbox that I never received. I called my credit card company which put a hold on any interest accruing on the $225 while they investigated and suggested I call paypay. Since my son had all the information, my ex-husband trying to help me out worked on it all day, however, canceled my account with paypal.

Because of the canceling of the account, paypal told us they could not do anything for me. I can't believe this as I had an account as of the day they paid for the item I never received, I still have the credit card and as I told them, they are advertising "buyer protection" which I did not receive. I don't see how canceling an account with them today has anything to do with past account purchases. They refuse to do anything to help me recoup my money because the account with them has been canceled. Please, please help me get my money back. I work so hard for every dime I make. And this is not fair.
