I wanted a carport. Just something simple. I called around and Eastern Outdoors had the best price buy about $400 So I told them I was driving their to give them the deposit on it. When I got their I found that they had priced it wrong, It was the same price as everyone else. But I was already their and they said I could have it in 2 weeks so I agreed. 2 weeks went buy and no carport or call. at 3 weeks I began calling and leaving messages. They wouldn't answer the phone niether would they call me back. this went on for a couple more weeks when I finally went their to get a refund. The owner wouldn't' even see me. I went back the next morning and waited for him for Two and a half hours when finally one of his workers came out, handed me his cell phone and the owner theatened me and told me "Your not getting your money back and you better not be their when I get their" So I called the police, they came and advised me to take it to small claims, and that is where I am now.

This is the same problums that I am having I had (2) buildings built and they both need repairs I called and was told that they would be out to do the repairs and never showed ..And Yes His name is Jesse

I AM IN THE SAME BOAT...PAID $2500 ( HALF THE PRICE OF THE BUILDING ) MY LAWYER IS NOW HADLING IT..WE ARE GOING TO PRESS CRIMINAL CHARGES IF HE DOESNT REFUND MY MONEY....ITS BEEN 3 MONTHS ....

spoke with gail,today she told me they were behind and that people should not get worried about getting scamed,she is the office mgr.nice lady if you have a promblem with eastern i would call her,she told me in about 2 weeks i would have my building..and if something came up she would call,,

His name is Jesse Allen Black. The owner of the companies name is Aaron Black--Jesse's brother. Jesse has been to jail in West Virginia for taking peoples money---and not providing the building. Jesse is now presently on probation for obtaining money with false pretense in Randolph County, NC. The owner Aaron Black used to be a Asheboro City policeman and Randolph county sheriff detective but he can not get the buildings put up but has no trouble getting consumers money. Consumers can reach Jesse at 336-301-1868. GOOD LUCK--You are not the only ones--there a a bunch of people in the same boat with you guys.

We paid $1760 back in March and for a complete month never heard anything from anyone. When my husband threatened to call the Better Business Bureau they miraculously found the time to call and say that the concrete man would be out the next week. Concrete was poured on June 9th and now I can't get through to them. Do any of you have a number besides 336-629-0178???

OK, has been 5 weeks and no carport. What is going on with these people? They have called and scheduled to get my carport up and didnt show. Called the office and they dont know anything about it. Has any of you got what you ordered yet? The ad was missing a few weeks from peddlers post but is back on now, looks like they are trying to drum more business and cant take care of what they have now. Is it a scam?

I was looking for a carport when I come across this site. I saw the ad in Peddlers Post and decided to check them out. Good thing I did or I would be in the same shape you people are in. Hope all works out for you all. I am going to go to the local place here in town and see what they have.

I have filed a complaint with BBB on 7-6 Talked to Gail Thurs ,was assured building by end of this week . Talked again yesterday said Jesse was on the phone will call back . Well no answer today so if anyone knows what to do next or get together for further action e mail is above . being behnd is one thing this dude Jesse WILL NOT RETURN CALLS just work with me here Gail will not give me the # for AAron or the owner at all

Most all complaints on here have been resolved, it's not a crime to be behind. We have and will continue to install our buildings and honor our contracts. If you have any questions call me Gail at 336-629-3305. Our competitors are also running behind also.

Any of you that paid your deposit by credit card should be protected under it. Call and file with them for a credit back to your card.

Husband and I purchased a building on 5/23/11. Paid in full. 4600.00 Told then the max was 4 weeks. If they were running so far behind then should not tell customers 4 weeks. It is ok to be behind but not okay to not communicate with your customers or call them back. We have kept a record of every phone call the time and date what the message said and what Gail or Jesse said. We have had all the excuses above. That we would be at the top of the list, that they had to fire and rehire a new crew, that all of a sudden the crew left on vacation. Then that Jesse would be out personally to do himself. Nothing. No phone call back nothing. Something needs to be done to stop this. We need to get together and get with the news as well. Put this to a stop!

I am going to call peddlers post monday to see about the cost of a 1/2 page ad to warn other people about this scam. I saw on another post that being behind wasnt a crime, may not be but they are still taking money and have not filled orders from months ago. Also if you paid by Credit Card please file with them because I am sure that buildings are not going up. I have yet to see a happy customer post here.

ok all since we allin the same boat what recourse do we have ? all i want is my building or money back i have filed bbb report anyone cares it is on file or i can show you mine i think if they are honhest guys i do beleive that they would return calls this Gail just does what the boss tells her I wonder how long she will last ? knowing she is working for crooks jesse has been to my house sat in my chair twice i went and saw his work in lexington i thought i did this rite i am china2socks@yahoo.com

I find it amazing that Eastern Outdoors can make a response to this site but can not find the time to respond to phone calls left on their voice mail . On top of that they were closed Fri This is Tues .... not a live person yet .

Just a comment about Eastern Outdoors. Gail is Aaron's girlfriend. We bought a building on 3/1/11 got the concrete pad on 4/6/11. Did not get the building til 7/1/11. We also filed a complaint with the BBB.Have filed a lawsuit againist Jesse, Aaron, Gail

I am not sure why, whoever you are, think Gail is Aaron girlfriend that is irrelevant to any issues you have with your purchase, and by the way I am not his girlfriend, would not date my boss thank you so much for the compliment anyway...like I have said before Mr. Bostian, I have just spoke with the concrete company and payment is yet to be made and you told me you had paid them...we are running behind and have assured most of you that we are doing our best to catch up...I am here everyday except last Friday when my air went out...Mr. Bradford you knew that the installer was responsible for all repairs so call the installer, the door issue is a manufacturer problem or either something you have caused yourself but to accommodate you we are trying to get someone that is going to be in your area to fix the door...thank you for giving me more to do so I have less time returning phone calls...much appreciated...

It is amazing the info came from a very good source. I agree with the person who said that eastern outdoors could comment on the computer about complaints but the owners or the so called office manager can not return calls. Sounds like this place can take money but refused to make the customer satified with the purchase. The company makes promisies they can't keep.

Never got the carport.. I finally had to take them to Court, I won, and He still has not given me my money back.
Tomorrow I go to the Sherrif to get them to try and collect it. This has been a nightmare. But there are reputable businesses out the , I found one , and they did just what the said, now if Arron Black will just do the right thing and give me my money back this will finally be over.

I ran across this searching out a building. Just to let you all know that if you paid a deposit by credit card you can contact them and get a credit back. Now I am scared to order from anyone now. Does anyone here know where I can get a carport and not have to wait a year to get it? Please leave me a message here. I like reading the comments. I take that the girl in the office don't know what she is doing.

Speaking of Gail. I was at the Courthouse today filing the execution papers for the cops to try and get my money, and while in line I met Allen Wood who also has sued Eastern Outdoors. He found out that not only is Gail Aaron's Girl Freind, but she is now his wife, and she is as corrupt as the rest of them.
Anyway, Me and Allen were wanting to see how many of you would be willing to go with us to someone like fox 8 news and see if we can get this story aired.

Evidently Jesse has managed to get his brother Aaron in a lot of TROUBLE! This is not Jesse's first rodeo but this time he has used his brother--Aaron as his pawn. Jesse is a con artist, rip off man that takes your money and lies all he can. Aaron knew Jesse's game--did you ever wonder why the business is in Aaron's name with Jesse as his salesman. The reason they can not get the buildings put up is that they have spent the customers money and have not paid their suppliers. CORRECTION--they did pay their suppliers--it was just with bad checks. Now they have opened up another business using the name FIVE STAR BUILDINGS! BEWARE--FIVE STAR BUILDINGS is just a different name with the same thieves. What I do not understand is that "Peddler Post" and "Steals and Deals" are aware of the problem but continue to let them advertise and defraud customers? Do they hold some accountability and responsibility for continuing to enable a known con man to steal people's monies? Jesse Allen Black is on probation for taking customers money and not building their buildings. Wonder where his probation officer is to oversee that this does not occur again--but it already has happened again and is continuing to happen everyday. In Eastern Outdoors advertisement it says "A name you know you can trust"--WHAT A JOKE!!!

I received the same information on 09-16-11 from the BBB that the NC Attorney General was investigating Eastern Outdoors. I submitted all documents to them two days later. Has anyone else received this statement and if so, what is the next step?
