On 1/21/11 my daughter booked 2 airline tickets on travelocity on my Citi credit card with my permission. When I received the credit card statement I saw four tickets charged - $761.30 each (times 4 instead of 2). I immediately put in a dispute claim to the Citi card via Email and called travelocity. Since February I have logged in 18 hours speaking with 15 "customer service" reps at Travelocity and 2 hours with their counterpart at citicards. Travelocity has assured me numerous times that the credit will appear in 2-3 billing cycles. Air Europa has assured me that on Mar 2 they cancelled the two duplicate tickets and therefore cancelled $1522.60 owed them by travelocity.
NOW after 3 months I receive a communication from Citicard that they have no proof of the dispute and are charging me back interest, considering the dispute resolved in the merchant's favor and are notifying all credit agencies of my delinquency of non-payment since January 21.
After several calls to them they say that they do not have enough proof to credit my account and only a ommunication from Air Europe will allow them to issue the credit. Air Europa said they issued the credit to travelocity and will not deal with me directly, as travelocity placed the order. At this point I am totally frustrated. This a trip that my daughter and I had planned for 5 years to celebrate my 75th birthday and I have already used up most of the vacation time a lotted, not on planning, but on this dispute. It would take at leat 5 pages to tell the whole story - suffice to say travelocity told me on April 21 that a "manager" would call me within 15-20 min (this was at 9 pm - the agent called me at 11:56 pm and woke me, leaving a non-message of "call me if I can be of help"
