Direct TV is a total ripoff.
They start you out at a reasonable price, then raise your rates and discontinue channels constantly.
When their service goes down, which is common, they tell you they can send out a technician for $60,or you can pay an additional $5 per month for "insurance".Why should I have to pay extra for their inferior service?
From what I've heard cancelling is a nightmare as well. It kinda reminds me of xm radio, another horrible service. If you have trouble cancelling, contact the state attorney general. Thats what I ended up doing with xm radio,1 week later I got a written apology from xm. Before contacting the attorney general xm was trying to charge me $500 for my "free" trial service that came with my new vehicle. They even sent me to a collection agency.
What ever happened to customer service?
