I won an auction on Ebay for a mercedes sd 1992. The listing on eBay and under coverage indicated that the vehicle is eligible for up to $50,000 in vehicle purchase protection. Resrictions Apply (not eligicle for eBay buyer protection).
Before the end of the auction I contacted two of eBay representative and I was assured that my vehicle is covered. I won the auction and I had the vehicle delivered from Wisconsin to saint Louis.
The vehicle was not as described with estimated repari cost more than $8000,00 ( AC, central locking system..etc).
The vehicle also hvae mileage discrapancies.
I submitted my claim to eBay and they immediately disqualified my vehicle because it was over 10 years old.
I was informed that vehicle over 10 years old must meet certain conditions. One of these conditions is mileage discrapancy. I emailed them back reminding them that my vehicle qualifies because of mileage discrapancy.
The adjustor of eBay vehicle purchase protection called me stating The auction Insurance agency disqualified my claim. they use average retail ( clean retail on the NADA site).
I was also informed that "regardless of the odometer reading, the vehicle is worth the same at 250,000 miles as it is worth at 160,000 miles".
I checked the web site for NADA and the vehicle at the actual mileage is $5,000 for clean retail. Although the vehicle is not clean retail, I expected the difference of $500.00 + shipiing. I was informed again and that

I have worked with the seller for over a month and half with no progress. I left him a negative feedback. then the message below popped up reminding me of my vehicle is covered under the vehicle purchase protection plan.
