Dell, Inc. Complaint

Do not buy a Dell computer with Windows 7 - it doesn't work - Dell computer with windows 7 installed

- Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
We purchased a Dell computer - it does not work. It has been two months of 'hell'. We cannot return it because we have had it for more than 21 days. We purchased a 4 year warranty that is useless because it only covers hardware and they tell me is is a software issure. Windows 7 and Office was factory installed, but they take no responsibility because "WE ASKED THEM TO INSTALL IT". We cannot install a new printer nor new software that is compatible with Windows 7. Furthermore, they took the computer back to factory settings and now they cannot get the software that came with it back on. Now, the computer will not allow our external backup to work, so anything we do is not saved. We have asked to talk to someone in the United States and they reply that there is "NO CALL CENTER IN THE US" They are hard to understand and it is quite obvious that they are reading information and have no idea what they are doing. In the past two months we have had various technicans on the phone for 4 to 6 hours at a time. My husband is 77 and at 4 in the morning he told them that he couldn't do this any more. They leave us with no internet, no printer and no way of getting back to them. The last straw was when they gave us an internet site to go to when we had no internet. It has been a nightmare and I want to tell my story. Maybe others are having the same problem and a groundswell might wake up Dell. I'm not a nut case, just a senior citizen that is sick of corporations getting so big that they can do this to the public.

Personally I do not believe it's their fault, I'm 18 and I could no doubt fix your computer- if I had it in my hands- by doing a fresh install of all your programs, unfortunately I do not live near you. I highly suggest posting on craigslist asking for computer experts for help- young teenaged gamers especially are good at working around Windows issues. We've been doing it our whole lives, after all!
