Dish TV Complaint

Outright Fraud with Dish TV

- Arizona
Stop if you're thinking of buying into Dish TV. There are unsavory reps all over this country that will promise you anything and after they have your payment method, you've been suckered in. I spoke to a rep from a 1-800 number that was on a mailing and she promised two dishes, one for each residence, since we are snowbirds, and one converter that we could move from house to house. She took all my confidential information down and told me the first payment of $49.99 (which was double the amount than the ad indicated) would be taken from my charge account but would be applied to the first month's payment. When I got a confirmation of all that we agreed upon on the phone, nothing was the same. Of course, there was no way to contact this person because she was on a 1-800 number and when I called again, I got another rep in Customer Service that told me he was quite familiar with these reps that will promise you anything and that he wished the company (Dish TV) would not hire people like this. He actually could do nothing about this transaction other than to cancel it for service setup but told me the credit card transaction had already gone through and that I would have to wait for a refund. I'm sure I will be going through further grief in the near future with this but I URGE all consumers, don't buy from this company.
