I have been a DirecTV Customer for 7+ years. I only got it because they are the only ones that can offer the NFL Sunday ticket package.2 Years after getting their service my receiver broke, when I called their customer support they informed me it would be 400 bucks out of my pocket to replace. I thretened to cancel, because I was leasing their equipment according to their contract. Then he said he'll only charge me for shipping ($70.00) , if I purchased their protection plan for 5.99 a month. I thought it was ridiculous paying to protect their equipment, but agreed so I could continue watching out of market games since they're the only ones to offer it. Well July of 2008 I moved, and used their movers connection, the Installer from Bluegrass forgot to supply me with the satelite that gives me local channels. To make a long story short after 2 months, filing a complaint with the BBB, was talked to rudely by direcTV, and bluegrass, they finally corrected it. Well in January of 2010, I moved to a building that will not allow satelite, I called direcTV to cancel, and requested a final bill, the customer service representative said OK. Less than a week later direcTV debited my bank account without my knowledge nor permission, causing me to be overdrawn. When I contacted them by email, and phone was told it's their right and policy under some customer agreement. Well I thought they had to give notice when a customer is not set on auto pay, and at the very least give me a written bill, and notice before charging my debit card. According to them NO. Well I've submitted complaints to the BBB, local Atty General, and emailed complaint to politicians. This company needs to be stopped they can pay off their class action suits because they are sole provider of the NFL package. If they lose it they will sink at a rapid rate. Sure not any company is perfect, and makes mistakes, but With all DirecTV's complaints lately it must be a record. Earl Evans Champaign IL
