First when I went to cancel my subscription to direct TV because I was moving to a new location I was charged $160 for cancelling my service two months early. I don't recall signing any contract specifying that, but they just took it out of my bank account without my authorization. I notified the bank (Wells Fargo) that I was unhappy and I made a complaint about that practice.
Secondly, the equipment was not returned in a timely matter and I wasn't aware of it because I had moved, but instead of notifying me about the problem they took another $300 from my account (after I had made the first complaint).
This put me in arrears and I asked Wells Fargo to freeze my account as I didn't have the funds to cover these debits, but they refused to do so. Now I'm overdrawn $1500!! I have 13 overdrafts at $34 each, all because of the money that I felt was improperly taken from me.
Of coarse I'll never be able to get back on track, I don't make that kind of money. I'm on SSI and can barely cover my mortgage.
What can I possibly do? I'm being ignored by Direct TV and Wells Fargo and nobody is willing to listen or help me. Wells Fargo will just keep on piling on the overdrafts. Can anybody get to the bottom of this?
