Direct TV Complaint

False promises to get u to sign with them - Satellite TV

I have been batteling with direct since I have joined them in dec 2006. When I signed uo they promosied me a Free Portable DVD player I call then continuosly every mont since then and they it will be shipped in a few weeks. When I complain that it is duly noted and as soon as they can the will mail it.
I have a higher biller each and every moth with no warning or anything. I would to see how you can handle this company and getting the portable dvd player I am entitled to for over a year now.

    SO TRUE!
    I'm in San Diego, CA and I've also had trouble with the "free portable DVD player" that I was told I would receive when I signed up.
    I received a standard sized DVD after signing up for auto. bill-pay (something they didn't tell me when I originally signed on- just sign on to the service and I would get the player).
    I called about this and was told to send it back and they would ship the portable player.
    I did this and in a couple of weeks they shipped another company's regular size DVD player.
    I called on this and was told that if they run out of the portable DVD players, they give what they have. Of course I was never told this before.
    Looks like the ol' "bait n' switch" is back with DIRECTV.

    WHY ARE THE CABLE AND DIRCT TV FIGHTING FOR IS IT FOR RATINGS AND WHY IS IT DO THEY COAST MORE CABLE IS HIGH AND DONT REALY GIVE THAT MUCH OF A BREAK ON PRICES.AND IF YU DONT HAVE CREDIT CARD YU CANT GET IT. AND IF YU READ THE SMALL PRINT THEY SAY YOU DONT NEED ONE AND THEN YU READ IT AND ITS SAIDS YOU DO NEED A CREDIT CARD.ITS A LIE AND SO IS CABLE I CANT STAND CHARTER CABLE BUT THATS THE ONLY ONE I CAN AFFORD RIGHT NOW.IF I COULD GET AROUND CABLE IT WOULD BE NICE ITS NOT LIKE THE DAY WE DIDNT HAVE TO PAY FOR TV.SOMEONE DREAM UP SOME WAY TO NICKE AND DIME US FOR TV AND TAXES. YOU CAN TAKE CABLE AND STUFF IT.
