22 yr old Daughter struggling with serious dental problems. She can not find a job therefore she is uninsured. Not converable under husband's insurance as we can't afford to get her in college. I have contacted several dentists and agencies seeking dental help for her. Oregon State Dental Board gave me a Disconnected number to call, a number to an International Agency which resulted in a message that they were booked so far into the future they didn't know when they'd be making any appointments, and a Center which only helps the Homeless. The Result I found with Most Calls was TREATMENT IS AVAILABLE IF SHE IS HOMELESS! Same result when she needed Medical Care. We're currently under a Chapt. 13 Bankruptcy trying to keep our home and that does not allow any extra money for anything, which is why we can't pay for her.
Her gums are bleeding with gingivitis, broken teeth cutting her cheeks, Wisdom tooth coming in sideways gouging her cheek, Infection which I'm told warrants a need for her to go to Emergency so Doctor can prescribe an Anti-Biotic. NO MONEY FOR DENTIST - NO MONEY FOR DOCTOR - NO MONEY TO FILL THE PRESCRIPTION - No Job - No Insurance -Mom and Dad not wanting their daughter to live on the streets as a Homeless person. Our Bankruptcy Attorney, Steven Johnson, tried to disallow her inclusion as a dependant, stated we should throw her out of the house since she could not find a job, but the Bankruptcy Trustee said it was irrelevant what her age, if she was a resident in our home, without a job, she is a dependant. She can't qualify for Oregon Health Plan as she's living with her parents.
THEREFORE, you must be HOMELESS in the State of OREGON if you need Dental or Medical Care and are without a job or insurance.
