I am a physician and my wife is medical student, so don't spend much vacation time together in general but ruined our last vacation by travelling through Delta Airlines. Last week I amd my wife planned to spend 'Spring Break' in orlando, Fl and booked Delta Airlines. To begin with ourflight got delayed and when we reached orlando, our luggage was found missing. Delta airline customer service has no clue where is our as well as six other people's luggage. We were told that they will look for our luggage and they don't care if we have our clothes, hotel information and basic daily stuff to use or not. Starting on a wrong note, we lost our first day of vacation waiting for our luggage despite calling Delta airline customer services hundreds of time.Finally we picked up our bag from airport next day but this is not the end. After spending our vacation in Orlando, FL, we reached airport one and half hour before time. There were huge lines waiting for check in. we also stood in one of lines and by the time our turn came, they told us we cant check in and we have missed our flight, so we have to rebook the flight.
When I objected and asked to speak to superviser who came after 20 mins, he did not want to hear anything, bossy and rude in behaviour, did not want to answer why they don't have sufficient staff to deal with huge lines and why we have to rebook and pay from our pockets for their fault. Rather he gave us two options- rebook or waste time in calling cusomer relations.
we were pinched by all this; questioned ourselves: Is this 2008 and are we in United States; Are people in authority like supervisor can do whatever they want, Can a middle class citizen get justice. Only answer I get is to try and seek attention of media not only for what I and my wife went hrough but for all other people who are and will suffer like this.
