On May 13 and 14th 2011 we got hard wood floors installed on our first floor by a reputed company National Floors Direct. The entire amount for installation was collected from us before work started on 13th May. On the evening of 14th the sub - contrators working for the company finished the Job and left. After they left we inspected the floors and found that some pieces of wood were defective with cracks and holes. It was a Saturday evening and so we could not contact the company. We waited till Monday and called firsthing in the morning. They asked us to take pictures and send. We explained that the wood was dark and that pictures will not show. But since they still insisted we sent them the pictures. They did not contact us back so when we called they said that the pictures do not show any defect and so they will not do any thing. We insisted that they send some one to inspect. After a couple of phone calls they agreed to send someone to inspect. We again had to call then a couple of times as the their men did not show up at the time they would mention. Finally one evening the sub - contractor who had installed showed up. In the mean time we had identified a couple of other pieces that were defective too. The sub-contractor agreed that the wood was defective and that it was manufacturers defect, it needs to be changed and will report it to the company. They said the company will call back to do the repairs. SO we waited for the phone call. Again their was silence the company did not contact us. When we called back they said that the sub - contractors reported that there was no issue. We spent half an hour explaining to them that, that was not true. Then we asked to be tranferred to a manager. When he came on phone we again explained the entire story so far and he came up saying that you must have dropped something. We argued that how could we have dropped at multiple places. After justifying that we did not do any thing wrong they finally agreed that the Manager himself will come to visit us next Saturday - 06/11/11. No body showed up so we called and were informed that he will be comming in the afternoon. No body came so again we called and now we were informed that he has no time so he will not come today but will call on Monday. Their track record is that no body calls and no body visits. We have wasted so many days wating for them and no body shows up. Also they refuse to inspect the entire area. We are stuck and do not know how to get this company to see what sub standard material they have used and to own up and not harass the customer. Please suggest something that we could do to make National Floors Direct replace all the damaged hard wood. They are taking the customer for a ride for the money they have paid. We do not recommend this company to anyone because they fool customers.
