My daughter, Lauren Bryant, purchased a salvaged Honda Accord form Marvin Robinson, representative for Import Heaven on Aug. 13, 2010. He assured us that he bought the car damaged and had it repaired and all repair work was done correctly because "that's the only way he does it." A couple of months ago the front end of the Honda was damaged when a careless person backed into it. The insurance adjuster sent pictures to me which show poorly welded and repaired framework and "severe structural issues" from work that "not done correctly." When I confronted Marvin refused to do anything and said that he "bought the car already repaired." There is more to the story which I would be happy to share with you. My daughter is raising 3 boys alone since her husband abandoned her some time ago. We help as much as we can, but it is a lot of pressure on her. She does not need to be worried about driving around in a vehicle she purchased in good faith that it was safe and repaired properly. Marvin refused to pay to have the car repaired properly for about $2000 according to Scott Gregg, the estimator for Progressive Ins. I told Marvin that our ideal solution is for him to refund/buy the car back. Have been deciding how to proceed from here. Thanks for letting me vent.
Sincerely,
Mel D. Gardner
