Asheboro Honda Complaint

Dealership Professionalism??? - Car Dealership

- North Carolina - Asheboro, NC
I recently obtained my tax refund. Having a satisfactory amount I decided I would use a chunk of it to put down on a new car. I contacted Asheboro Honda about a Civic Hybrid; however, upon seeing that I owed more than I originally thought on my current car I decided to wait. I was emailed by the General Sales Manager, Cesar Jaimes, asking if I was still interested. I stated to him in email that at this time I still owed to much on my car and would be waiting for 6 months. I told him the amount I still owed and that I understood the payments I would want would be unobtainable.

Cesar emailed me back offering a Program 2009 Honda Civic Hybrid, and asked me when I could come in. At this time I called him and told him I would be interested and restated the fact I still owed to much on my vehicle. Noting the negative equity up front is important. Thursday morning, on February 18, I stopped by on my way out of town to meet with Cesar about the offered car. He was unhappy I did not have my car for him to evaluate but I reminded him I was going out of town. I also said I did not want to waste my time or his time if there was no way to work a deal. I was very excited when I left the dealership that morning because I felt very assured that a deal would be worked out. I promised to bring my car back on Tuesday February 23.

I kept my promise, and on Tuesday I returned, I drove from Greensboro to Asheboro for the second time. Cesar was out ot lunch and I was given to a salesman named Mike to talk with. The other sales manager inspected my car. I sat and waited while they discussed me and my car. I often saw them looking at me. Finally about an hour and a half to two hours later, Mike came to me and explained that I should go home. That I was to far upside down in my vehicle and this was giving them a hard time. I was assured that the General Sales Manager (Cesar Jaimes) and the Sales Manager would be working on numbers. I was escorted out to my car with the promise that, Mike would contact me either way. Four days later neither of these men have made contact. Not even to respond to an email expressing my concern over what took place.

What upsets me is not that I did not get the car, as stated from the start I knew that was not a possibility. What bothers me is that I have been disrespected and ignored. Do I not even warrant a solid response? I do not expect salesman to be honest but I do expect them to be respectful. I did not hide the fact I had a substantial negative equity but I was still encouraged to drive out to the dealership twice, losing a half tank of gas and my pride in doing so. I feel like the fact that I am a woman makes them think they can treat me this way.

I just want someone to acknowledge me and tell me; yes, no or we're working on it. I am not a child I am an adult who was doing business. Asheboro Honda lacks serious professionalism and work ethic. I know when I can and do purchase or lease a civic hybrid, it will NOT be through them.
