I bought a car on February 6th. The car needed a new battery and the lights wouldn't come on. So the dealer said he would do those thing and I can pick the car up on February 7th. So I did. The next morning the car wouldn't start. So I had to get a jump. I finally got the car to start but the check engine light was on. I went to work and called my brother since he was there when I bought the car. He said we need to take it to autozone and get a diagnostic test. So that night after work that's what we did. Autozone said it picked up four codes on th engine. On February 9th the next morning I called the dealer and told him the codes. I informed him that I didn't want the car. I asked him what can I do to get another one. He said that he would sell me a warranty that will cover everything. The engine and transmission. I wouldn't have to pay anything but the deductible. So I bought the warranty over the phone. And he gave me the policy number. For sevral days I tried to contact the warranty place and I couldn't get a response. So I drove back to the dealership and asked to see my warranty papers. He took me in the office and said I need you to sign them so I did. He then said when you date it put the date that you purchased the car so the warranty people can cover the cost. So I did and I got my copy and left. I finally got in contact with the warranty people and they said they only cover a car if it fully breaks down. I went back to the dealership he said that if it cost to much to fix he would give me a different car. I went to a mechanic and found out it cost 2000 dollars to fix it. The car transmission is bad. The mechanic pulled up 7 codes. So I went back to the dealership. The guy that told me he would change the car told me I had to wait until his brother came. The brother got there about 2hrs later. First thing his brother said to me was I don't have to help u. I'm doing it out the kindness of my heart. So he showed me the car I would be allowed to get. The car I originally bought is a 2002 chrysler 300m. The car he was now offering was a 1998 ford taurus. He told me that the taurus is worth the same amount as the chrysler. And I would have to pay the same amount for the car note if I switch cars. Plus I had to give him a extra 300 hundred because he was losing money by helping me. I didn't want the deal so I was like let me call my mom to see what I should do. He said call your mom, brother, obama nobody can help u. Then he said if you don't hang up the phone I won't talk to u. My mom told me to get his business license number. When I tried to look for it he told me to get out of his office take my car and get off his lot. He cut the lights off and we were forced to leave. The car is now totally broken down. And the warranty company said they only cover upto 500 dollars. My car still has 30day tags on it and I can't drive it. I can't register it because it needs an emissions test.
