My wife and I just got married on 12.30.10. My wife entrusted her designer wedding gown to D'Anelli Bridal in Lakewood Co for alterations. Her first appointment was in September 2010, the second in November 2010 where the first problems arose. The dress had "unexplained" markings and rippling all over the top of the dress. When she asked her seamstress about it she had nothing but nonsense to say. My wife then requested to change seamstresses since she was no longer confident with this woman's abilities to fix this gown. The owner, manager, the original seamstress, and a new seamstress wanted to have a meeting with my wife to discuss the matter. They told her the issues with the dress were a manufacturing defect. Which is not true. The "professionals" convinced her to let the original seamstress fix the dress and "make it right" after denying that she did anything wrong (Which we know she did...read on). At the next fitting was a complete disaster. The seamstress not only ruined the dress she ruined it so badly that we had to fly it back to Kleinfeld's (where the dress was purchased) for them to fix. They literally had to order fabric and remake over a third of the dress because the seamstress altered it incorrectly and ruined the satin fabric (the fabric was torn, stretch, and had unfixable markings). We have detailed accounts, pictures, and the professionals at Kleinfeld's that confirm our suspicions that this woman was not only not qualified to work on this gown but ruined it so much that we had to pay an exorbitant amount of money to correct the damage. May I add this all happened 4 weeks before our wedding.
After all this not only did the owner of D'Anelli not even express any apologies to my wife she actually left my wife a voicemail telling her she dealt with this whole fiasco "immaturely!" (which we have saved). A wedding dress is a very emotional thing but the lack of customer care and professionalism displayed by this place is appalling. They are refusing to pay us back even the money we paid them to initially alter the gown and now we are out of pocket thousands of dollars and the "owner" is claiming that the seamstress is a "private contractor" so we are out of luck.
If you all can help in anyway, we want all brides and grooms in Denver to know how awful this place is, how they could care less about the quality of their employees or the affect they have on other people. We want them to be exposed for what they are...an awful business that caused us nothing but stress and a ton of money 4 weeks before our wedding, turning it into a nightmare.
Thank You
