At 12 noon today (November 7, 2011 not feeling well, I turned on the tube, scanned the programs on and found THE PAULA DEEN with a guest making pecan ice cream.
She put her fingers in the pecan mixture, opened her wide eyes, and placed her fingers in her mouth. She did this several more times opening her mouth wider and wider. In went her hand. There were no indications either on the tape or by reference of her washing her hands before or after handling food. This continued all through the program.
Surely the Food Network owes its viewers an obligation to insist it's personalities cook HYGIENICALLY.
I learned early on that you do not spit into the food you are cooking. Maybee I had the wrong teacher. Food network is missing its obligation to teach right by setting standards and enforcing them.
