Good morning, I work for the Dept. of Families and Children Services in Georgia and had advised my daughter Jennifer Amaro to contact her local DCF and report her husband, he is a felon/arrested in 2006 for kidnapping of a minor under the age of 12 (we were not aware of this until after the wedding) he is aggressive and abusive and police has been called several times to his residence, has past and present drug abuse and my daughter contacted her local DCF ( Port Saint Lucie) and an investigator (Fred Bradley) contact my daughter and the daycare my grand-daughter attends, the investigator found no issues with my daughter and or child. This investigator explained that since her spouse lives in West Palm Beach another investigator (Teresa White) would contact her and do a home visit to his house to review the concerns my daughter has regarding her 4 year child when he has the child on the weekends. The West Palm Beach DCF has done nothing, my son-law took the child to an undisclosed location and my daughter has no access to the child or even to the information of her wellbeing since 11/4/11. This is a violent man with a felony charge/drug abuse no work in the past few years and DCF does nothing? My daughter works at a local hospital, never had issues with the law, has child enrolled in daycare and sitters that watch her child while she works, buys food for her child while she is with her father at his house. As a DCF worker in Georgia I am very disappointed that the State of Florida can be this irresponsible and careless. We all are overwhelmed with caseloads but there is no excuse for this behavior. Will action be taken if the father hurts the child because he was so drunk and overdosed and possibly to late to save?
My daughter has filled a restraining order against her spouse trying to keep herself and child safe since I guess DCF is too busy to do their work.
