I'm a 39 yearold mother of 5 & became fully disabled December of 2002. I suffer from stage 3 RSD (reflex sympathetic dystrophy). My parents purchased a 2010 Chesapeake Bay limited series manufactured home. We have had severe builder & manufacture defects since the day of settlement. Our defects are including but not limited to sloped floors, large camel humps on the roof, bowed walls and large amounts of water pooled under our home causing the floors to start squeaking and cracking. We have involved the state attorney general, HUD, BBB, Rep Bryan Cutler. All of which ultimitly advised us in writing to seek attorneys assistance ASAP. HUD issued numerous violations including- no data plate, edge swelling on the roof and sloped floors down to the marriage line. Both Heritage Homes as well as Eagle River sent letters to the pa state attorney stating they were in compliance as of 8/28/2010. We have numerous e-mails from Craig Pike confirming yet another date for service on 10/16/2010 after the letter he sent to the state attorney. This situation has compromised my ability to fight my RSD and has torn my family apart. Due to this situation we have found out that our home is in fact a 2008, was built with shotty material (we were able to obtain memo's from Eagle River Homes stateing the changes in building material.) The damage in the home has now forced us to look for alternitive housing. We have been thrown under the bus by not only the retailer, builder, but also HUD. We need help so badly that I don't know if I will be able to survive this nightmare. We are not even able to have homeowners insurance due to all of our builder/manufacture defects. I can provide documents, e-mails and pictures validating the validity of our claims. It is our belief that due to the obvious facts, one being that over 95% of manufactured housing home owners are lower income familys and are easy to bully.
