My name is Bernard Gross, I live in Brooklyn NY and in December 2010 I had solar panels install in my roof. Con Edison installed a co-generation meter which allows me to sell any additional energy back to the web. Con Edison is over charging me. The first electric bill after installation was billed in the wrong amount. It was based on the old meter. They corrected the bill when I called. 2nd--The company read my meter on April 17th when it showed 395, but they estimated it at at 875kwh. I called and asked for help but I was told I needed to pay the estimated charges in the amount of $119,00. I asked to speak to a supervisor, they took my phone number but never called me back. I called this week and they investigated the charge and I was told to pay the bill because it was estimated and can't correct the bill until the meter is read in May. My meter now reads 213.
Con Edison installed my meter. They had a human read it, imputed the information and came up with an estimated number.
It appears the company is behind the curve and can't deal with new technology. Call me it necessary.
