Our company received what looked to be an official government letter claiming that we needed to fill out the "Annual Minutes Requirement Statement Directors and Shareholders" by May 4, 2011 and send in a check for $125 as well. The letter quotes a few State laws and then asks for Corporate Officers, Directors and Shareholders names and how many shares they hold. This is a scam and I am soooo happy that the owner of the company was smart enough to get in touch with me (their accountant) before filling out the form and sending in a check for $125. If you would like I am more than happy to scan a copy of the form as the well as the Instruction page (which is printed on the type of paper that the IRS prints their instruction pages on). I have been an accountant in Florida for 22 years and this is the first time I have come across such a thing. I feel that business owners need to be made aware of this scam. I am certain so many small business owners are being targeted and a lot are probably falling prey to them. Please help serve our businesses justice and get this out there!!
