We received a notice in the mail that was made to look like it was government related or from the IRS. The notice was requesting a Annual Minutes Requirement Statements from Directors and Shareholders.
Beware!!! If you receive mail from Compliance Services, 400 Capital Circle SE Postal Mail Box 18321 Tallahassee, Fl 32301. Report them and spread the word. This is a scam that business owners can easily fall for.
You will receive an official looking form to fill out asking for corporate officers, directors and shareholder information. It all looks very "official" and even has your companies incorporation date (which is public record).
They enclosed an official looking return envelope, return address in Tallahassee, Fl and instructions to enclose a check for $125.
The reply date was for March 9th, 2011!
I found the exact same story submitted by another business from 2010; which means this SCAM is still going on.
We were very close to filling it out, submitting a check, and at the last minute took a closer look. There is no telling how many companies fell for this and have paid the $125. I'm furious and plan on calling the Better Business Bureau next. These people need to be stopped, monies returned, and punished by whatever the law will allow.
