Cmp Home Improvement Complaint

Construction - Construction

- MACON, GEORGIA
My father owns an apartment that burned last January, 2007.
We selected cmp home improvement company basically because the owner, [snip], stated that he was a minister and "vowed" to do a good job. He was very slow, always making excuses; kept asking to get another draw from the insurance company because he could not finish until he had the draw. The insurance company gave him the last draw because he assured them that he could complete the job in 3 weeks after he received the last payment. After he received the last payment, he started making excuses, saying that he was sick and had to go to the hospital. He refused to return numerous calls made to his cell phone and to his home. When I finally reached him today, he was very rude, stating that he was going to file bankruptcy and was not going to finish the project. He stated "i don't have any money and I can't return any of the money to you. I don't know what you're going to do."

We need help! This man is dishonest and needs to be arrested! My father uses this money as income and he has been without it for over 1 year.

Dear Homeowner:
I am so sorry to hear about your terrible situation. I agree with you that the crook should be in jail. Is he even an actual minister? Send a letter to be printed in your local editorial section of the paper. You can't mention his name but you can sure narrow it down enough so that people will recognize him. Also if you are in the phone book people will call you for more information. If you get a negative call just hang up and don't even try to explain your situation. These types usually have a gang of thugs as supporters.
What did your insurance company say? They don't take any responsibility for paying him the draw ahead of the work? Sadly it is common knowledge that once they have that last payment many of them flee into the night.
I wish that I could say that the regulatory agencies will help you. Sorry to say I never knew of any to do so except for wonderful sites like COMPLAINT TV that gives consumers an avenue to tell their story. I wish you the best of luck with your situation and post any updates.
Sincerely, Susan
