Capital One Complaint

I knew what was in my wallet but couldn't get rid of it. - Credit Card

- Illinois - Springfield Illinois
I knew what is in my wallet but it still won't go away.
I'm writing to see if there is anyway you can get me the number of someone at Capital One who has the authority to close my account. I have twice closed it each time they say it takes 30 days with a zero balance to close it. I paid the pay off amount. However they added charges.

I called they said it was an automatic insurance charge and I would have to call a separate number or it would keep being charged to my account. Which I did not get a bill for and they then charge me late fees and send out the new bill with all these extra fees .I spoke to them today and it is 5.66 after they waived the late fees which they list as transactions so I said I would pay that and wanted to be sure it was closed.

They told me it would be closed in 60 days if there were no transactions. How do I get out of this.

on feb.08 statement I found six charges from magazines. cap one allowed these charges to my account despite my knowing and having nothing to do with it, whatsoever. I called cap one. I related the same to phone person. My report was met with snide resistance to helping at all(and the usual put off routine when asked to speak with supervisor). I was about to hang up when the phone person agreed to credit my account. Days later a letter confirmed credit of only one charge out of the total six. Exhausted from handling increasing number of con artists in this forsaken city, I reluctantly hit my files to find that these magazines were sent to me as reward from reward program 5 or 6 years ago. I called first magazine on the list. Phone person told me to call another number that would handle crediting all charges. Did that. Got second letter from cap one crediting remaining five. Then, because of double crediting and poor arithmetic, they wasted more of my time and energy with overcharging due to lousy arithmetic and refused to cooperate(intent on mind bending and blinding double speak we all know and love) when I called to say I would remit amount owed for purchases I made only. Name of the game these days, "create enough confusion and headache that most consumers will run the other direction rather than enter into heartburn of tackling their antics." The chaos and confusion factor is universal to all con artists these days because it works so well. I want to know when the day will come that consumer can bill perpetrator for our time so audaciously wasted! What brass!
