Canada Check Fraud Scam - paid survey

I receieved a letter in the mail for a paid survey. Telling me to deposit the check for 2950.00 into my account, then I was suppose to take 2400.00 and 140.00 to western union and send this money to a person in Barcelona, Spain. I was to also go to Best Buy, Walmart or Kmart and spend 100.00 on anything I wanted and was mine to keep. I was going to receive 300.00 for doing this survey. Went today to get the monies I needed to do the survey, went into the bank and they closed my cheking account out and my savings account also. My bank Wells Fargo, will not open another account in my name ever. I was just trying to make extra money for my family.

hey sweetie my name is genesha, and I just recieved that same letter in the mail yesterday. I live in Cleveland Ohio and I was very exsited thinking that ok now I have the money to pay my rent and buy my kids some summer cloths. I am a single mother of four kids and of course I was about to try to cash that check this moning as soon as my bank opened, but my friend keep saying no that dont sound right, but me being desprite because as I said I do not have my rent money because I was just riped off with my income tax money by letting the wrong person file my taxes and then I came to this web site and read your story and it was the same letter only they promised me 3,590.00 and told me to spend 150.00 at one of those stores.so I thank you for taking the time to post your story cause if it was not for you I would have been another victim thanks

hey im vicki from NC, and they sent me a check today so i thought i'd get on here and check it out and come to find out as i knew it, it is a scam so i called the guy it is the same non-american person answering the phone EVERYTIME, i cursed him out 2 times and he would not answer the third or 4th time, so i left a message cussing him out again and telling i've seen this crap on DATELINE NBC. im not a dummy. he was a little pussy bitch that would not answer the phone and i asked "why are u hanging up on me because you know your a scam??" hung up again! i should get in touch with Chris Hansen from dateline!!!

My name is Dan. I reviewed two complaints here about this same scam. I call it a scam because I was almost taken in by it myself.If you are reading nthis, you must be trying to decide if this is for real or not. The answer is NOT. I received the same type of offer as the other reportings state. Inside the letter was a Chashier's check for $1490.00. I also was asked to Depoist In my bank account and to complete a survey as to help evaluate services and products. For this I was to keep $300.00 for my travel expenses and my time to do this. Since I had not been contacted in any way before I received this it acted as an alert to me. As the others that complained, I was and still am, in need of some fast cash. I was to purchase from Western Union a money transfer to an address that was not included with the letter but was to be instructed as of where and who I should send it to. Also I was to spend $150.00 At Walmart, Best Buy, or K Mart and keep the goods as part of pay to do this survey. They wanted to know all the right things so it looked like it was for real.
