My pet of 8 years died while at Bright Eyes & Bushy Tails, a vet hospital in Iowa City, Iowa. When I received the phone call reporting her death, I was shocked. I commented that I would be there momentarily to 'pick her up.' When I arrived, I was greeted at the door with the body of my pet - in front of other customers!
They did not offer a consultation or burial possibilities, I had to INSIST on talking to the vet. They did not apologize for bringing my pet's body to the lobby, but said, "There must have been some miscommunication." They treated my pet, who was a family member, like a pizza (is this for delivery or pick up.)
It would not have been so bad if the service I had received before my pet's death was outstanding or even mediocre. Instead, it was riddled with "trust me," "i know what I'm doing," "i have tons of degrees," and (unfortunately) "let me go look that up online."
I am heartbroken & outraged that a business would find it acceptable to treat a customer & a life in such a terrible way!
