Boyle Toyota in Sumter, SC has the worst customer service of any company I have ever dealt with. I recently purchased a 2004 Toyota Double Cab 4X4 Pickup and when I called back to ask about an owner's manual, I was told that the cost would be $30.00 and did I really need it. I called The Toyota Center in Columbia, SC to inquire about having some keys made and asked if they might have an owner's manual. They ordered one and I had it within a couple of days for a $15.00 charge. Why would a Toyoto owner's manual cost twice as much at Boyle Toyota. The salesperson was supposed to mail me a bottle of touch up paint that I have never received and the salesperson was supposed to hold up sending the registration transfer paperwork in until I called back to o.k. because I was transferring the tag on a truck I was trying to sell.
They submitted the paperwork and we just received the registration in the mail a few days later. This resulted in my having to go back to the courthouse, stand in line for my entire lunch hour, pay taxes on the truck transferred and now I have to fill out a Form 400 and go buy an additional tag for the vehicle so it can be put on the road to test drive until it is sold. When I called to complain two higher supervisors said there should have been an owner's manual in the truck because it was a certified used Toyota. I asked for a reimbursement of my $15.00 I paid to The Toyota Center and have never received it. The only thing the supervisors could tell me was that Boyle Toyota was the number 1 dealership and that everyone could not be satisfied.
I asked to speak to the owner who was out of town but the supervisor said he would have him call me. Do you think he did? Of course not. Something as small as an owner's manual has cost Boyle Toyota any further business from me, my family and anyone I can convince to buy elsewhere.
